Responsibilities

Meet regularly with your dedicated advisor.
It is important to establish a connection with your advisor early and continue to meet throughout your time  in the SOAR ASAP program. You meet with your advisor twice a month during your first semester. After that, the number of required meetings is determined based on your needs.

Fulfill any required transitional coursework within the first year.
Completing transitional courses in the first year ensures you continue to make progress toward your degree. If you need to a transitional course in Math and/or English, your advisor will make sure you are enrolled in these classes in your first semester and are connected to the Learning Center for tutoring.

Attend tutoring as determined by your advisor.
If you need additional academic support, you will work with a highly trained tutor in the Learning Center.

Enroll in full-time study until completion.
To make sure you graduate on time, it is necessary to maintain full-time enrollment. You are encouraged to take 15 credits in the Fall and Spring semesters or enroll in winter or summer courses to ensure you earn at least 30 credits each academic year.

Attend helpful, engaging workshops.
Attending required SOAR-sponsored events helps you get important information about the College, arrange your financial aid/transfer/career plans, and meet other SOAR ASAP students.
