Student Success
How do YOU define it?
At Harford Community College we all define success in different ways. That's because we all start out in different places and our paths forward are varied. The goal is to meet students where they are and move them forward, one step at a time. For some, that is more of a challenge than for others. That's where we come in!
Take a look and explore the many opportunities Harford provides to ensure that success is part of your Harford story.
COACHES:
Cohort programs like SOAR ASAP @Harford allow students to get personal and academic
coaching, interviewing and resume writing skills, leadership experience, and financial
support.
ADVISORS:
Harford's dedicated Academic Advisors work with students to not only keep them on
track to graduate, but guide them in overcoming academic barriers, help them to set
goals and track successes, and determine when to move forward and when to pivot.
NAVIGATORS:
Some programs, like Nursing, Healthcare, and the Trades, have embedded navigators
who work closely with students throughout their programs. They provide more one-on-one
engagement and are able to identify and remediate some of the challenges that come
up.
LEARNING ASSISTANTS:
The Learning Center and its 24 Learning Assistants help individuals develop into strong
students by providing note taking and study skills, course support, and academic tools.
PEER MOTIVATION:
Sometimes you need to hear what others have gone through and how they navigated the
challenges. Our student stories provide perspective to current students and hopefully
give them the boost they need to get to their next step.
