DXI Construction Fitness Center

Located in the Susquehanna Center on the Harford Community College campus, the DXI Construction Fitness Center is a full service, state-of-the-art fitness center.

Students are admitted with their Harford student ID. The Center offers individual exercise program instruction to both full- and part-time students. Initial program consults are scheduled by appointment, and individual exercise programs are designed to facilitate independent Fitness Center usage. Access to the Fitness Center varies by semester. 

Fitness Center Hours

Fall and Spring Semester Schedule
(Fall hours start the first day of the semester and Spring hours start at the beginning of January)
Monday—Thursday, 7—9 AM and 12:30—5:30 PM
Friday, 7 AM—4 PM

Summer Schedule
Monday—Friday, 8 AM—4 PM

The Fitness Center will be closed when campus is closed. Please take note of anticipated modifications and closings that will be posted on the front door of the Fitness Center and sent out on Campus Announcements to Faculty/Staff and students. Access after-hours is PROHIBITED to the general community.

Fitness Center Rules
  • Everyone is required to sign-in at the front desk using their Harford ID.
  • Proper gym attire and footwear is required. No flip flops, sandals, or crocs. Must have closed toed shoes.
  • Always put equipment back when you are done.
  • Use the provided cleaning solution to wipe of equipment immediately after your are done. 
  • Please be considerate and respectful to others.
  • Phone conversations need to be taken outside of the fitness center.

Who can use the Fitness Center?
Current credit students, faculty, staff, immediate family members of faculty/staff (contact human resources), and TUNE students (contact TUNE for additional information).

Where is the Fitness Center?
It is located in the Susquehanna building, across from the pool.

If I need assistance, have questions, or concerns who can help me?
The Fitness Center desk attendance can assist you, or you may contact the Fitness Center manager, Sean Wright, at 443.412.2542, or swright@harford.edu.

If the Fitness Center is locked, how do I gain access?
If the doors are locked, the Fitness Center is closed, and you cannot gain access.

I am faculty/staff that possesses an access code, can I use the Facility when it is closed?
No, no one is authorized to use the Fitness Center for liability reasons when the fitness center is closed.

Are there rules and user guidelines for the Fitness Center?
Yes, everyone is expected to comply with posted rules and standard gym etiquette.

Can I wear bring my own speakers or listen to music without headphones?
No, not everyone enjoys the same type of music. This is not considerate of others and can disrupt others ability to focus and workout. If you want to listen to your own music you must wear headphones.

What type of dress/attire is authorized?
Loose and comfortable athletic clothing and supportive athletic shoes are suggested. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. Sandals, flip flops, and crocs are not allowed.

Is there a place to store my things during my work out?
Yes, lockers are available in the locker rooms. Please bring your own lock, but any locks left on overnight will be cut and discarded. There are cubbies located in the fitness center which can be used as well.

Can I bring and use my own Fitness Equipment at the Fitness Center?
Yes, as long as it doesn't damage existing equipment or structures, you can use it at your own risk.

Is there risk of injury?
Yes, just as there is with any exercise, the use of equipment and participation in physical activities do involve risk of injury and even death. You agree that your use of the Fitness Center is at your own risk and you assume full responsibility for all risks arising from your use of the Fitness Center.

Can I safely begin exercise or should I check with my doctor first?
If you have a physical or medical condition, impairment, disease, illness, or any other reason of concern that you feel you should not engage in physical activity, then you should consult your physician or qualified healthcare provided before beginning an exercise program.
