The Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) recently announced the MSAC 2022 Independent Artist Award recipients. Susan Muaddi Darraj, Associate Professor of English at Harford Community College, was one of the two state awardees who will receive a $25,000 grant in recognition of outstanding artistic achievement.

Harford Fighting Owls men’s basketball guard Chandler Johnson has been named Region 20 Division I Player of the Month for January, region officials announced on Tuesday. The 6' freshman also snagged the award for December.
Harford Community College is pleased to announce the students named to the Deans’ List for the fall 2021 semester. Students on the list have achieved high academic honor by earning all “A” and “B” grades and a 3.50 to 3.75 grade point average. Full-time students must have completed 12 credit hours during the semester. Part-time students are eligible after having completed 12 credit hours and then completing six credit hours during the current semester.

Red Hot Chilli Pipers are a Celtic rock band from Scotland that became popular internationally in 2007 after winning the BBC talent show, When Will I Be Famous? The band's lineup features three highland bagpipers and traditional marching snare, backed by the most famous bagpipe band on the planet.
Dr. Supawan King, Associate Professor of Mathematics in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math division, joined Harford in 2005 and has since established herself as a highly valued member of our STEM faculty.
Harford Fighting Owls women’s lacrosse team is ranked No. 1 and men’s lacrosse is No. 2 in the National Junior College Athletic Association preseason polls. Both teams will take to the field for scrimmages this month.

Registration Now Open for Harford Community College’s 2022 Summer Camps
The FY 2022 Nurse Faculty Annual Recognition Awards (NFAR) were recently announced by the Nurse Support Program II, which is administered by the Maryland Higher Education Commission and funded through the Health Services Cost Review Commission. Twenty-three of Maryland’s finest nursing faculty were named as award recipients including Harford Community College’s Mary Beverly Gallagher, Assistant Professor in the Division of Nursing and Allied Health Professions. Awardees were recognized for their contributions to nursing education and their service to Maryland nursing students.
Harford Community College’s radio station WHFC 91.1 FM and the Office of Communications recently announced the launch of “Harford 360,” a new talk show highlighting the variety of important and interesting offerings at the College.
Julie Mancine, adjunct faculty member in the Arts and Humanities division as History of the United States instructor, also works full time as the College Archivist and Hays-Heighe House Coordinator.
