Summer Swing Raises Funds for Harford Community College Student Scholarships

One hundred twenty-eight golfers participated in Harford Community College Foundation's 32nd Annual Summer Swing Golf Tournament held on July 21 at the Maryland Golf and Country Clubs in Bel Air.

Golfers, sponsors, and volunteers enjoyed a fun-filled day of golf, games, and a live auction at the reception dinner. Numerous sponsors and dozens of volunteers helped make the event a resounding success in raising vital scholarship funds for Harford Community College students. The Foundation raised approximately $60,000 for student scholarships and financial assistance.

Harford Community College student Courtney Celmer, the recipient of several competitive scholarships, including the Klein’s ShopRite of Maryland Science Pharmacy Scholarship, spoke at the event. Courtney is a full-time student majoring in biology and chemistry who plans to graduate in spring 2026. In her remarks, she thanked everyone who participated in the golf tournament because the money it raises for scholarships has a great impact on students and the community. At the event, Courtney and members of the Klein Family had the opportunity to meet for the first time.

The Harford Community College Foundation, Inc., assists Harford Community College and the advancement of public higher education by broadening the base of support and communication with private donors and public agencies. Through friend raising, advocacy, and fundraising efforts, the Foundation sustains the College with financial and personal contributions for educational programs developed by the College community and approved by the Board of Trustees.
