Owl Media, Harford’s student multimedia publication, made history on the national scale, winning awards in six categories at the 2023-24 Pinnacle Awards sponsored by the College Media Association. Owl Media won first place honors for Best Two-Year TV Station of the Year.
Harford announces the appointment of Dr. Stuart Savin to the position of Associate Vice President for Workforce & Continuing Education effective December 9. Dr. Savin brings extensive experience in workforce-focused educational opportunities and continuing education programming.

Phoenix Festival Theater is seeking diverse, energetic actors and actresses who will be 18 or older by the show’s opening date to audition for “Shrek The Musical,” December 9 and 10, 6:30 to 9:30 PM in HCC’s Susquehanna Center, Auxiliary Gym. The show runs March 14-16.
A Grand Opening showcasing Harford’s new Workforce Training Center in Belcamp was held for local business and industry partners, community members, and elected officials. Students can train in five programs for in-demand skilled jobs at the new site. Funding is available.

Harford Community College was recently granted a subaward of a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant, “CUE-P: Integrating Artificial Intelligence Literacy into Community College Programs,” in the amount of $99,892.
The Harford Youth Orchestra and Harford String Orchestra are celebrating their 25th anniversary season with the College with a fall concert on Saturday, November 23, at 1 PM in the Amoss Center. The concert is free and open to the public; reservations are recommended.

Harford’s Chesapeake Gallery presents “The Melancholic Joy of Living,” a solo exhibition featuring works by Constance McBride. McBride uses clay sculpture to explore the human condition and delves into themes of ageism, inviting viewers to confront their own thoughts about age.

The Board of Trustees of Harford Community College will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 12, beginning at 6 PM.
The National Council for Marketing & Public Relations District 1 recently awarded four 2024 Medallion Awards to Harford’s Office of Communications. The awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communications at community and technical colleges.
An event record-breaking 329 runners and walkers recently took part in Screech’s Night Owl 5K + 1 Mile Fun Walk, an evening glow run and fun walk in support of Harford Community College’s student athletes.
Harford’s voice students will perform in recital on December 10 at 7 PM, including a set by the Vocal Pop Ensemble. Our instrumental students will perform in recital on December 13, 8 PM, followed by a performance by HCC’s Jazz Ensemble. Both will held in Joppa Hall.
Dr. Theresa B. Felder, Harford’s President, received the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations District 1 Pacesetter of the Year Award for her demonstrated leadership, support and ability in the area of college communications and marketing.
Dr. Tony Hinton has been appointed to the position of Associate Vice President, Operations effective October 28. He brings extensive experience in facilities management, overseeing construction projects, operations planning, project management and more.
