Michael T. Smith Sr. ’12 received the Distinguished Alumni Award at Harford’s 2025 Commencement ceremonies, recognizing his outstanding professional success, demonstrated commitment to the community, and interest in and service to the College on our Board of Trustees.
The College’s Division of Nursing and Allied Health Professions hosted a Pinning Ceremony for 47 spring 2025 associate degree nursing graduates on Tuesday, May 20 at the Amoss Center. The new grads will bring their considerable skills to patient care for years to come.
The College held its annual Commencement on May 22. Many of Harford's graduates of the Class of 2025 attended one of the two traditional cap and gown ceremonies held in the APG Federal Credit Union Arena on campus and celebrated their achievements with their loved ones and friends.

Harford will host a free clinic for girls 12 to college age at its Sports Complex on Saturday, May 24, 9 AM to noon, in partnership with the Baltimore Ravens. An open tryout will follow for HCC’s women’s flag football team, which begins its inaugural season in spring 2026.
Harford men's lacrosse won its third consecutive NJCAA Men's Lacrosse National Championship last Sunday with a 20-10 victory over Nassau Community College (NY). During the last three seasons, Coach Verardi has led Harford to a 39-1 record to go along with the three national titles.
Harford held a ribbon cutting and opening celebration on May 13 in Joppa Hall to mark the launch of the College’s participation in Maryland’s state-of-the-art Cyber Workforce Accelerator (CWA) program, hosting a range of local, state, federal and private sector dignitaries.

The Board of Trustees of Harford Community College will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 13 beginning at 6 PM. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format; employees and community members may join the meeting in person in Edgewood Hall, Room 132 or watch the meeting via the Internet.
Four community colleges vied for the NJCAA Men's Lacrosse National Championship at Harford’s Sports Complex this weekend. Our Fighting Owls defended their title as reigning national champions as the No. 1 seed and aced the tournament final on May 11 over Nassau Community College.

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men’s Lacrosse Championship returns to Bel Air, Maryland, May 10-11, 2025, for the third consecutive year. The NJCAA has fielded men’s lacrosse since 1970.
The 2025 Annual Juried Student Art + Design Exhibition, showcasing artwork created by Harford's Art + Design students over the past year, will take place May 5-30 in the Chesapeake Gallery. All are invited to the Opening Reception in the Gallery on May 6 from 5 to 6:30 PM.
Celebrate the end of the academic year! Harford will host an evening concert with flutist Andrea Brachfeld, a staple of New York City's jazz and Afro-Cuban scene, on Friday, May 2 and solo and ensemble performances by vocal and instrumental music students on May 14 and 16.
Owl Media, Harford’s student multimedia publication, had a great showing at the Apple Awards this year, winning national awards in six categories. Student media publications from across the nation entered the competition. Winners were announced at the ProCon 25 Convention in NYC.
Richard W. Smith, Instructional Design Specialist at Harford Community College, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Barbara Zirkin Award by the Maryland Distance Learning Association (MDLA) and MarylandOnline (MOL). Smith was recognized for this achievement at the MDLA Spring Conference in Hanover, MD on April 5.

Registration is open for a variety of fun summer camps for children ages 3 to 5 that are being offered at Harford’s Early Learning Center located on campus. These three-hour, three-days-per-week camps for preschoolers will inspire kids to create, discover and imagine.
Harford’s Fighting Owls, nationally ranked No. 1, delivered a statement performance last Saturday, rolling past No. 2 Nassau Community College with a 18-8 win in front of a home crowd of 300+ at Harford’s Sports Complex. Harford is unbeaten at 10-0 in the regular season.
