Distance Proctoring

For Harford Community College students
requesting testing at another location:

Students who live outside the Harford County area may request exams to be delivered via distance proctoring. To do so, the student must obtain permission from their Harford instructor to test at an off-campus location then locate a proctor to administer the testing. Once permission is obtained, the following information must be sent to the Test Center.
Allow a minimum of two weeks for the request to be processed.

Information Required from Instructor
  • Permission for the student to test at off-campus location
  • Completed Faculty Instruction Form for each exam or quiz
  • Student's name
  • Name of class and exams or quiz numbers
  • Copy of the exams or quizzes
  • Passwords if exams are online
  • Any exam information pertinent to administering the exams
Information Required from Student
  • Proctor's name and position title
  • Proctor's address
  • Proctor's email, phone number, fax number
  • Proctor's relationship to student

NOTE: It is the student's responsibility to locate a proctor and to pay any associated fees and postage.

For Non-Harford Community College students
requesting testing at the College:

Students from other institutions wishing to sit for exams at Harford Community College must contact their home institution to request to test at Harford's Test Center.

The following information must be provided to your home institution:

Once approved by your home institution, email the Test Center at least two weeks prior to your desired test date and schedule an appointment. Review the Test Center's guidelines prior to arriving for your exam.

Testing instructions and information will be sent to Harford's Test Center either by mail, fax or email. The proctoring fee is $25 per exam and is payable by check or credit card on the day of your testing. If your school does not provide return postage for a paper-pencil exam, please bring a postage-paid, USPS Priority Mail or, if required by your institution, a traceable pre-paid UPS/FedEx, envelope.
