Accelerated AAS: Information Assurance and Cybersecurity

Accelerated AAS: Information Assurance and Cybersecurity

Recognizing the critical importance of effectively and quickly preparing a skilled cybersecurity workforce, Harford offers an accelerated AAS degree program. The Monday/Wednesday evening program includes online and hybrid courses that can be completed in 17 months. Same skills, less time, faster entry into the world of cyber.

AAS: Information Assurance and Cybersecurity

For students interested in immediately entering the workforce or transferring to a four-year institution, the AAS degree prepares you to enter the high-demand field of information technology security. With the increase of computer viruses and other security breaches, companies need professionals who can protect their data and equipment from internal and external security threats. Students gain hands-on experience with the latest hardware and software and learn to implement appropriate security policies and procedures.

This certificate program prepares students to enter the high demand field of Information Technology Security. This program is designed for individuals with IT experience who are looking to advance their career in the cybersecurity field.

Cyber Defense Certificate

Cyber Defense Certificate

This accelerated program is comprised of several industry-standard certifications offered in a cohort format which is modular and competency based. Upon completing the program students will have the knowledge and skills to apply for jobs such as Computer Network Defense Analysts, Network Administrators, Computer Network Defense Infrastructure Support, Intrusion Detection System (IDS) Technicians, and Systems Administrators. Students desiring to further their education beyond the Certificate can stack their credits to articulate to the Information Assurance and Cybersecurity AAS degree program and ultimately to a Bachelor’s degree program.

 

Certification Prep Courses

These noncredit courses prepare you to sit for nationally recognized certification exams. Once the industry credentials are obtained, students may use them to verify their various levels of training for the purpose of obtaining employment, advancing their careers, or toward prior learning credit for those wishing to enter a certificate or degree program.

IAC/CIS Advisory Committee

The IAC/CIS Advisory Committee is an assemblage of individuals from industry, government, and academia who bring unique skills and perspectives that guide curriculum development and evaluation.
