Blair’s Works to Be Displayed in Solo Exhibition

26 January 2023

“Divergent Entities,” a solo exhibition of artworks by Brad Blair, Chesapeake Gallery Coordinator at Harford Community College, will be on display February 4-26 at the Delaplaine Arts Center, 40 S. Carroll Street in Frederick, MD.

A reception will be held on Saturday, February 4, from 3-5 p.m. Artist talks will be held prior to the reception, beginning at 2 p.m.

This is Blair’s first solo exhibition since before the pandemic, and it will also be his largest exhibition to date. There will be 60 ceramic/mixed media works on display, with more than 25 that have never been shown before. The artist stated, “Along with the continuation of creature forms, many of these new sculptures have references to the fungi kingdom, a source of inspiration that has exploded for me over the past few years. The diversity of their shapes and colors, paired with their illusiveness and mysteriousness, have inspired me to incorporate them into my artwork. Hundreds of hours have gone into the making of ‘Divergent Entities’ and I cannot wait to share it with the world!"

Operating hours for the Delaplaine Arts Center are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no charge for admission. For additional information, visit https://delaplaine.org/exhibitions/, email info@delaplaine.org, or call 301-698-0656.
