Harford Community College Holds Pinning Ceremony for Spring Nursing Graduates

The Spring 2022 Nursing Class Pinning Ceremony for Harford Community College’s associate degree nursing graduates was held on May 25 in the Amoss Center in Bel Air.

The event was hosted by the College’s Division of Nursing and Allied Health Professions with Dale Spielman, MSN, RNC-OB, CNE, Director for Nursing Education, Nursing and Allied Professions, filling in for Interim Dean Sonia Galvan, MS, RN, CNE, along with faculty and staff.

Full-time Nursing faculty Mary Beverly Gallagher, MS, RN, CNE, led the graduates and all RNs in the audience as they recited the International Council of Nurses’ Pledge.

Congratulatory remarks were offered by Harford Community College President Dr. Theresa B. Felder and Dale Spielman. Assistant Professors Jessica Powers, MSN, RN, NPD-BC, CNE, and Faith Andrews, MSN, RN, CNE, presented the pins, and Assistant Professors Brandi Robinson, MSN, RN, and Gretchen Mirabile, MSN, RN, CPEN, handed the lamps to the graduates. Assistant Professor Alicia Gainey, MSN, RN, read the names of the graduates. Katie Young was the graduating class speaker.

In addition to nursing uniforms worn by all graduates, members of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and the Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society wore special cords to designate their membership. Several students received recognition awards. Benjamin Grocott received the Maryland Nursing Association District 7 Leadership Award, Jessica Cutlip received the Spalding Science of Nursing Award, and Ronald White received the Spalding Art of Nursing Award.
