Dr. Ashley Meisel, MS, RN has been appointed Harford’s Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Professions. A dedicated and knowledgeable nurse educator, Dr. Meisel brings more than 12 years of experience in healthcare to the position.
Associate Professor of English Susan Muaddi Darraj is the recipient of a Stephen Fraser Encouragement Award, which provides stipends each year to three published authors, illustrators, or translators of books for young readers.
Art & Design instructor Bart O’Reilly has published “My Father's Work Shed: Painting and Poems,” a collection written and painted over the past eleven years that deals with loss and his connection to his parents and Ireland.
Harford Community College Board of Trustees Approves Tenure/Promotions for HCC Faculty
Jacklyn (Jackie) Madden, Associate Professor of Biology and Biotechnology at Harford Community College, and Dr. Edward Schmidt, Senior Science Society, U.S. ARL (Ret.) have been named NMTC Visionary Award winners. Along with other award recipients, they were honored at the 11th NMTC Visionary Awards ceremony held on April 20 at Waters Edge Event Center in Belcamp, MD.
Charlie Richardson, a fixture in the Business & Applied Technology Division as adjunct faculty in Cybersecurity, has done outstanding work in his profession and for his students since he started at Harford in 2012.

Dr. Stowers is an anthropologist and Registered Dietitian. She believes that America’s community college system is one of its best democratic ideas and loves teaching at HCC. Dr. Stowers oversaw the restoration of the on-campus historic Hays-Heighe House museum and she also served as HCC’s Scholar-in-Residence.

The Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) recently announced the MSAC 2022 Independent Artist Award recipients. Susan Muaddi Darraj, Associate Professor of English at Harford Community College, was one of the two state awardees who will receive a $25,000 grant in recognition of outstanding artistic achievement.
