Harford Community College Assistant Professor Anthony Moll Wins Poetry Prize

09 March 2022

You Cannot Save Here, by Harford Community College Assistant Professor of English Anthony Moll, won the 2022 Jean Feldman Poetry Prize from Washington Writers' Publishing House. The win includes a small cash prize, and, more importantly, a contract for the book to be published by Washington Writers’ Publishing House later this year.

According to Moll, "These poems explore how we get on with the everyday moments in our lives during times of global catastrophe. What do our identities, families, crushes, plans, mornings and evenings, even our small joys mean when climate disaster, war and disease loom? I know I'm not the only one asking these difficult questions in the last few years, so I'm looking forward to sharing this book with readers who might be dwelling on similar concerns.”

Moll said, “I'm excited to be publishing the book with Washington Writers' Publishing House specifically, because it's such an honor to be selected by fellow poets for this prize, to be recognized by my peers who see this poetry as work worth sharing and putting their support behind."
