Harford Dance Theatre will hold auditions for “The Nutcracker” on Saturday, August 16 in the Susquehanna Dance Studio located on campus. Use Entrance 2 for parking. All roles are open. All dancers should be currently enrolled in ballet classes. Performances will be held December 5-7.
Harford is pleased to announce that Dr. Pamela C. O’Brien has been named the new Dean for Behavioral & Social Sciences effective Monday, July 7. She previously served as the Dean of the School of Arts, Sciences and Business at Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore.
The Board approved faculty tenure and promotions effective August 15, 2025: A tenure contract for Brian Lazarus, Drs. Laxmi Chataut and Alejandro Satz were promoted to Associate Professor, and Jessica Adams, John Donahue, and AnnMarie Profili were promoted to the rank of Professor.
Harford is pleased to announce that 19 students completed their GED® in 2024-25. A ceremony honoring their achievements was held last month in Darlington Hall. Those passing all four modules of the GED® exams earned a Maryland High School Diploma. Congrats to the new grads!
Three employees, Dr. James Karmel, Dr. Tonee Mae Moll, and Megan Scott were recognized for their scholarly or creative publications and works produced during the past year at Harford Community College’s Annual Campus Celebration and Employee Recognition Event held recently.
Brian Walker has been unanimously elected Chair of the Harford Community College Board of Trustees for a second term and Sharon Markley Schreiber has been unanimously re-elected Vice Chair for 2025-26.
Phoenix Festival Theater will hold auditions for “Sister Act” on Sunday, June 29, 1-5:30 PM and Monday, June 30, 7-9 PM, in Susquehanna Center, Room 212. Auditions are for all roles and are open to those 18 years or older by the opening date; performances run September 19-21.
Harford Athletics announces that Marissa Kozlowski has accepted the position of women’s volleyball head coach. She takes over as the seventh head coach in modern Fighting Owls volleyball history and brings an impressive depth of knowledge and track record of success to the team.
The 2025 Harford Leadership Academy annual graduation banquet was held recently. The HLA is a community leadership development program co-sponsored by the College and the Harford County Chamber to create a committed, involved, and diverse network of leaders in Harford County.
The College’s Center for Teaching and Learning held the Harford Institute for Scholarly Teaching for the second time this year on June 3-6 for 25 full- and part-time faculty. The Institute provided valuable tools, strategies, and connections to expand and sharpen teaching skills.
