Harford has received a grant from the Maryland Higher Education Commission to install alert beacons in campus buildings. The beacons will act as a critical layer in the campus safety system to communicate emergency messages to students, faculty, staff and visitors.

More than 100 students recently attended a ribbon-cutting for the Owl’s Nest, a new recreation area in the Student Center on the campus of Harford Community College. Dr. Theresa B. Felder, Harford Community College President; members of the President’s Staff; and the Office of Student Life team also attended the event.
The College is opening a new Workforce Training Center at Water’s Edge in Belcamp. The training center is designed to better serve community needs by providing Harford Countians with the knowledge, skills, and abilities they need to secure jobs with living wages.
Hpone Myat was one of 210 Phi Theta Kappa members from across the country named a 2024 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and will receive a $1,000 scholarship. The awards help new PTK members with educational expenses while completing their associate degrees.
A Completion Ceremony for graduates of the Medical Assisting Program was held recently. Six students completed 160 hours of training in physicians’ offices across the county after finishing rigorous coursework for their Medical Assisting Certification and AAS degrees.
