About

Jennifer Wilcox joined Harford Community College in 2021 after relocating to Hershey, Pennsylvania, from Southern California. Prior to her role at Harford, she served for seven years as a full-time faculty member at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California, where she taught a range of courses including General Chemistry, Preparation for General Chemistry, and Chemistry for Allied Health.

Jennifer began her academic journey at Saddleback Community College, choosing the community college route due to the financial constraints of four-year institutions. It was at Saddleback that she developed a strong foundation in both practical and creative thinking—skills that have continued to serve her throughout her career. After earning her degree from the University of California, Irvine, she spent a decade working in the environmental sector, supporting companies with environmental planning and regulatory compliance. While she valued her experience in the field, Jennifer ultimately chose to return to education in order to give back to the community college system that had such a meaningful impact on her own life.

Outside of the classroom, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs, Gracie and Georgie. A lifelong sports enthusiast, she particularly loves baseball, and also has a passion for music—she has been playing the violin since the third grade. Having lived on both coasts, she has had the opportunity to travel extensively across the United States. While she occasionally misses the beaches of Southern California, she appreciates the beauty and variety of the four seasons in the Northeast.
