Gain the administrative skills you need to work in a front office for a physician practice or clinic.
Upon successful completion of all required courses, you are eligible to participate in a 40-hour externship at an area medical office. This program integrates all the topics and skill competencies required to meet current healthcare industry standards. Program features:
- 40-hour externship where students are placed individually
- Hybrid classes
- Preparation for national certification
After completing the required courses, you will be able to sit for National Certification as a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant through the National Healthcareer Association.
REQUIREMENTS
Prior to registration or application for scholarship, students are required to take
the Accuplacer Next Generation tests, NGA & NGR. These tests are offered on campus
at the Test Center and are free to take two times each. Email healthcaretraining@harford.edu for more information.
Clinical sites may require a background and drug test which is at the student’s expense. A health record form must be completed by a healthcare provider with supporting documentation of required vaccinations to include seasonal flu and Covid-19. This will be due prior to the externship.
