The National Security Agency and National Science Foundation recently awarded a grant to Harford Community College to fund the College’s “GenCyber Smart Girls Camp,” a one-week, non-residential cybersecurity summer day camp.
Summer and STEM! Harford hosted 17 local high school students for its innovative, grant supported, BIOTECH Pathways Summer Institute. The students gained both biotechnology skills and a more holistic understanding of potential biotechnology career opportunities while performing hands-on laboratory exercises and using cutting edge technology.
Harford Community College held the 2022 BIOTECH Pathways Teaching Academy on campus this summer. Sixteen Harford County faculty took advantage of the opportunity to learn ways to integrate biotechnology content into their curriculum.
Hosted by Harford’s Leading Edge Training Center Powered by the Radcliffe Foundation, the first class of completers were celebrated at a ceremony where nearly 50 proud and happy students were recognized for their achievements.

Dr. Theresa B. Felder, Harford Community College President, and Dr. Sean Bulson, Superintendent of Harford County Public Schools (HCPS), recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further the Dual Enrollment program, by which certain HCPS students may enroll in Harford Community College courses to earn college credit.

Dr. Kim Davis, the new Dean of Arts & Humanities, comes to Harford from Oakland Community College in Michigan, where she served as Associate Dean of Communication, Arts and Humanities. She has been in higher education for 20 years.
Harford’s President, Dr. Theresa Felder, is one of 26 community college leaders selected for the 2022-23 class of the prestigious Aspen New Presidents Fellowship, part of the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program.
