Harford Community College Holds Military Appreciation Basketball Games

Join us on Tuesday, November 10 at the APGFCU Arena at Harford Community College as we honor and celebrate our military community during Harford's Military Appreciation Basketball Games. Harford women's basketball and men's basketball teams will face off on the court against Mercer Community College. The women's game begins at 5 p.m. The men's game will immediately follow the women's game. Military ID holders receive free admission. General admission is $5.

Harford invites veterans, active-duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, military families, and community supporters to attend this special evening of appreciation and recognition. Prior to each game, the Joppatowne High School ROTC will present the colors, and Daniel Kirkland, a Harford Owl and a veteran, will sing the national anthem. Guests will receive fun giveaways at the door, and Harford Athletics will keep the energy high with music throughout the event as well as special halftime fun. Community partners will be setting up tables along the main concourse, providing valuable resources and opportunities to connect with organizations that support our military, veteran, and local communities.

"We look forward to bringing together our campus and community as we celebrate service, leadership, and Harford County pride," stated Karis Rempel, Military and Veterans' Associate at Harford Community College.

The College will also participate in Operation Green Light Week, a national collaborative initiative led by the National Association of Counties (NACo) to support military veterans and raise awareness of local resources. The event is scheduled annually from November 4 to 11 to coincide with Veterans Day. During this week, Harford's Library will be illuminated with green lights.

Harford Community College appreciates and supports all of their military and veteran students and their families. Learn more here.
