Bronwyn Bates is New Workforce Director at Harford Community College

Bronwyn Bates has been named the new Workforce Director at Harford Community College effective July 6, 2026.
Bates brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across higher education, hospitality, and theatre—skills that uniquely shape her collaborative, people-centered approach to workforce development. She is committed to building equitable career pathways and strengthening the talent pipeline that supports Maryland’s growing industries.
In July 2021, Bates was named the Workforce Programs Manager at Howard Community College in Columbia, MD, where she led strategic initiatives that connected students to high-impact, real-world learning opportunities. Before that, she worked as a Curriculum and Instructional Specialist to help support the noncredit healthcare and childcare programs for Howard.
Prior to joining Howard, Bronwyn served as the Workforce Development Training Coordinator at Baltimore City Community College, managing a portfolio of workforce programs and custom contract training designed to meet the evolving needs of regional employers. While there, she also served as a member of the Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division’s Leadership Council.
Bates earned a BFA in theater with a focus on theater management from Goucher College in Baltimore, MD.
