14 New Scholarships for Harford Community College Students

30 June 2026

Harford Community College continues to expand the scholarship opportunities for its students thanks to the generosity of several new donors. This academic year, the Harford Community College Foundation has partnered with members of the community to create 14 new scholarships.

Anna Almony Healthcare Scholarship

Established for students in credit/degree programs in Medical Assisting

The Anna Almony Healthcare Scholarship ($500) was established to honor its namesake, a compassionate caregiver who has been taking care of others for over 40 years. As a CNA, friend, and dedicated caregiver, Anna has positively impacted the lives of countless individuals, helping many through end-of-life care with profound compassion. This scholarship is a way to help the next generation of healthcare professionals achieve their goals and learn how to do more for those in need, allowing them to positively impact the lives of others. It aims to provide critical financial support to dedicated students, easing the economic burden of their education so they can focus on their studies.

Grounded in Gratitude Scholarship

The Grounded in Gratitude Scholarship, a $500 annual scholarship for students in General Studies, was established from a place of deep appreciation and personal experience. Founded by a hardworking and compassionate woman who returned to college in her 40s, the scholarship reflects her journey and the support system that made it possible. With the unwavering encouragement of family and friends, she was able to earn her degree and achieve a lifelong goal.

At the heart of this scholarship is gratitude—especially for the strong, supportive women who helped guide her path, most notably her mother. This scholarship is her way of paying it forward, offering encouragement and financial support to a student working toward their academic goals, just as others once did for her.

The Harford Bank Charles H. Jacobs Scholarship and The Harford Bank Charles H. Jacobs Workforce Scholarship

In recognition of that impact, the College was proud to present Mr. Jacobs with the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2017.
