Harford Community College Holds CNA, Dental Assistant, EMT Completion Ceremony

A combined completion ceremony for the spring 2026 Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, Dental Assistant program, and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program completers was held on April 30 in the Chesapeake Welcome Center on the Harford Community College campus.

The event was hosted by the College’s Division of Nursing and Allied Health Professions with Renee Michalkiewicz, Director for Allied Health Professions, and Dr. Ashley Meisel, Dean for Nursing and Allied Health Professions.

The ceremony opened with welcome and congratulatory remarks from Renee Michalkiewicz; Dr. Ashley Meisel; Nancy Dysard, Chief Communications Officer; and Dr. Amy Ertwine, CNA Instructor.

The student speakers for the CNA ceremony were Lauren Misterka and Shanbria Wise. The Dental Assistant student speaker was Courtney Browne.

Instructors Amy Ertwine, Theresa Countryman, and Tityana Moore pinned the Certified Nursing Assistant graduates. Instructor NiEsha Henry presented certificates to the Dental Assistant and EMT program completers.

The CNA students who were pinned during the ceremony include Haniya Aamir, Brianna Austin, Ava Brown, Mahlet Melese, Lauren Misterka, Jailaesia Murphy, Hannah Serrell, Mi Nam Sherman, Leilani Soriano, Luke Spedden, Cierra Summerlin, Arianna Taylor, Eliab Toribio, and Shanbria Wise.

Dental Assistant completers joining the ceremony were Courtney Browne, Shanae Edwards, Donielle Mack, Madalyn McCormick, Brianna Pauley, and Kaitlin Skorak.

The Emergency Medical Technician Program completer in attendance was Ivy Meola.
