All are invited to the Opening Reception in the Chesapeake Gallery on Thursday, May 7 from 5 to 6:30 PM. A juror’s talk and the award announcements begin at 5:30 PM. The Salon de Refuses, featuring work not accepted into the juried exhibition, will immediately follow in Joppa Hall from 6:45 to 8:45 PM.

The Annual Juried Student Art + Design Exhibition showcases artwork created by Harford Community College's Art + Design students over the past year. A guest juror selects the artwork to be exhibited from work submitted by students; the exhibition reflects the best of the work as interpreted by the juror’s vision. This year’s guest juror is Matthew Moore, the Director of Education and Interpretation at the Academy Art Museum in Easton, Maryland. He is an artist, curator, educator, and community organizer. In his work as an artist, Matt examines patterns in the built environment that shed light on the way collective memory and historic narratives are formed.

All are welcome to attend the reception or visit the LaCalle Chesapeake Gallery during regular hours. The Gallery is located on the first floor of the Chesapeake Welcome Center on Harford Community College’s campus at 401 Thomas Run Road in Bel Air. Parking is free. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM. It is closed on weekends and major holidays.
