Harford Dance Theatre Announces Auditions for Kinetic Canvas: Banksy

Harford Dance Theatre will hold auditions for Kinetic Canvas: Banksy on Saturday, April 4, in the Susquehanna Center Dance Studio, Room 212, located on the Harford Community College campus.

All roles are open; dancers must be at least 13 years of age or older by the audition date. Dancers should wear appropriate dance attire and bring dance shoes for all styles of dance for which they wish to be considered. Combinations will be taught at the audition.

Rehearsals will begin in May. Performances, which will be directed by Lauren Carnesi Daniels, will be held on July 31 and August 1, 2026.

Audition schedule:

Ages 13-15

Registration: 10:30 AM

Auditions: 11 AM – 12:30 PM

 

Ages 16 and Older

Registration: 12:15 PM

Auditions: 12:45 – 3:30 PM

 

Any callbacks will take place from 3:45 to 4:30 PM.

Please note: The role of choreography collaborator is open for cast members 18 years of age or older through a choreographic audition process that will take place during callbacks.

Collaborator expectations:

• Be expected to run their own rehearsals in a respectful and efficient manner
• Be 18+ years old by the audition date
• Comply with all deadlines and requirements set by the director.
• Understand that this is a non-paid role and is just for credit.
• Perform in at least one piece in the show that is not their own.
• Create original choreography.

Collaborators will receive:

• A choreographic assignment from the director including their music and cast
• 6 to 8 hours of rehearsal time broken into 2 or 3 rehearsal blocks to create and clean their choreography based on their availability
• Feedback from the director on a few occasions and as needed through the process
• Time to run their piece with the other choreographers and director
