If you like cutting-edge science and want to make a difference, this could be the career for you, and Harford Community College is here to help you achieve that goal. Harford offers a Biotechnology Certificate and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Biotechnology.

Workshops are held throughout the year to provide those interested in biotechnology an opportunity to explore this career path. Examples of biotech positions include biomedical engineer and laboratory technician, and jobs in fields that range from agriculture and biofuels to healthcare and biomanufacturing. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), biomedical engineers earned a median annual salary of $91,410 in 2019. The BLS projects 5% job growth for these professionals between 2019 and 2029.
