Celebration Ceremony Held at The River Watch at Water's Edge

A Ceremony of Celebration was held on August 14 for more than 40 students who completed
Philip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation Scholarship programs. The ceremony was
held at the River Watch at Water’s Edge in Belcamp.
The graduates earned credentials in one or more of the following: NCCER Core Certification, Forklift Certification Training, Certified Logistics Technician (CLT 4.0), Manufacturing and Production, and/or Pipeline Construction and Operations.
Dr. Theresa B. Felder, President of Harford Community College, delivered opening remarks and welcomed the completers and their guests. Carlene Cassidy, Chief Executive Officer of the Philip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation, offered congratulations to the graduates. Aaron Matzke and Nyoka Gaither, Philip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation Scholarship recipients, were the student speakers. Dr. Austin Hill, Director, Workforce Training Center, gave closing remarks.
A reception for students and guests followed the ceremony.

Philip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation scholarships are available to those enrolled in specified career and workforce programs at Harford's Leading Edge Training Center Powered by the Ratcliffe Foundation (located at the Edgewood Boys & Girls Club, 2002 Cedar Drive, Edgewood) and Harford’s Workforce Training Center at Water’s Edge (4690 Millennium Drive, Belcamp, MD). These strategic locations allow the College to provide valuable training in the southeastern area of the county. Scholarships provide full funding for those accepted. Students are guided through programs with help from dedicated Career Navigators and receive interviewing and resumé writing assistance, resources, and networking opportunities with local employers. The goal of the programs is to train students in skill areas that enable them to secure living wage employment and/or to provide business and entrepreneurial skills so they can become self-employed.
