19 March 2024

Enrich your life with travel! Let Harford Community College take the stress out of planning a trip and reserve your spot now for one of the following bus tours, as seating is limited.

Dim Sum Road Trip: A Masterclass with Chef Stu Woo

Are you looking to explore new and interesting cuisines as a foodie? Join us for a Dim Sum Road Trip on Monday, April 29 from 9 AM to 5 PM. Dim Sum is considered an Asian Brunch seven days a week. The varieties of dumplings – steamed, braised, or deep fried – are all served in a bamboo mini steamer. Join Chef Stu Woo on a trip to New Jersey for a guided Dim Sum tasting at Brother Seafood, ending with a visit to a local Asian grocery store with traditional and Western fruit, veggies, dry goods and more. Tea and tastings will be served, while Chef Woo explains how dishes were prepared. Round-trip transportation via the Harford Community College bus and lunch are included in the fee.

Fort McHenry

Visit Fort McHenry in Baltimore on Wednesday, May 8. The bus leaves the College at 8:30 AM and returns at 1 PM. Francis Scott Key penned the Star-Spangled Banner, our national anthem, at Fort McHenry. During the tour you’ll view a short film on the Battle of Baltimore, watch the Fort Rangers change the flag and hear about the park's historical significance. Tour the Star Fort, Seawall Trail, and park grounds on your own. The fee includes round-trip transportation aboard the Harford Community College bus and admission inside the Fort.

Prior to this trip, Professor Eric Mease’s April Continuing Education course entitled “Oh Say Can You See” will explore further details about our Nation’s anthem, the war, and the battle that generated it.
