The Board of Trustees of Harford Community College will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 8, beginning at 6 PM. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format; employees and community members may join the meeting in person in the Chesapeake Welcome Center, Room 197 or watch the meeting via the Internet. Join Harford Community College as we welcome local author D.A. Jennings for a reading of her latest children's book, Kip & The Land Pirates, on Saturday, September 26 from 2 to 3:30 PM in Darlington Hall, Room 202. Debbie Jennings is a local author and Community Education instructor at Harford.
On your mark, get set, GLOW! Screech’s Night Owl 5K Glow Run and Fun Walk, an event that supports Harford student athletic scholarships, will take place on campus at the APGFCU Arena at Harford Community College on Friday, October 16 at 7 PM. All ages are welcome to participate. There is also a virtual race option for those who would like to participate but are not local or are unable to attend the in-person race. The presenting sponsor is APGFCU.
The celebration of Constitution Day on Thursday, September 17, continues the spirit and theme of America 250. The following activities are planned and the public is invited. All events take place from 11 AM to 1 PM on the 2nd floor of the Harford Community College Library patio and Library lobby.
Join us for Jeff Allen: My First "Final" Farewell Tour on Friday, September 25 at the Chesapeake Theater located in the Chesapeake Welcome Center at Harford Community College. The performance begins at 7:30 PM. There is also an option for a separate dinner that will take place at 6 PM. Dinner tickets should be purchased by September 22. The dinner ticket does not include beer/wine, but there will be a cash bar. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
A Pinning Ceremony for Harford Community College’s summer 2026 associate degree nursing graduates was held on August 18 in the Chesapeake Theater on the College campus. There were 23 graduates from the program this summer.
Harford Community College held a Completion Ceremony for spring and summer graduates of the 2026 Medical Assisting Program on August 14 in Edgewood Hall on the College campus. Twelve students completed 160 hours of training in physicians’ offices across Harford County after completing coursework for their Medical Assisting Certification and/or Associate of Applied Science degrees.
A Ceremony of Completion for 42 Philip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation Scholarship recipients was held on August 13 at the Chesapeake Conference Center on the Harford Community College campus. The ceremony recognized the achievement of students completing Philip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation Scholarship programs.
As a part of the $5 million awarded through the Maryland Department of Labor’s Industry Apprenticeship Accelerator, Harford Community College has been awarded a $872,469 grant to scale up the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship into a comprehensive, statewide workforce solution. The goal of the program is to address Maryland’s critical shortage of qualified early childhood educators while increasing access to high-quality, earn-and-learn career pathways.
