Harford Community College has scheduled bus trips to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis on July 28 and the Kitchen Shoppe in Carlisle, PA on August 20.

U.S. Naval Academy Tour • Thursday, July 28 • 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Join us on a historical walking tour of the U.S. Naval Academy. Visit the monuments, historical highlights, and learn about the admissions process and the midshipman experience. After the guided tour, enjoy leisure time on the Yard: visit the gift shop, where you can feel good about picking up a gift for yourself or someone special as profits go directly back to support the midshipmen; explore the Visitor Center, and enjoy lunch (on your own) at one of the local restaurants. From grab-and-go goodies at a coffee bar in a historic gate house to lunch with fresh and tasty foods in the Drydock or a fine dining experience at the Alley Restaurant, your meal will be a memorable one – and again, 100% of the proceeds fund many extracurricular and quality of life events for the midshipmen. Fee includes roundtrip transportation from Harford Community College, a snack box, and tour.

The Kitchen Shoppe: Demo & Shopping • Saturday, August 20 • 10:45 a.m.-6 p.m.

This unique, fun trip is a perfect day for those who like puttering in the kitchen and trying out new recipes. Join us for a summer grilling demonstration, tasting and wine pairing! On the menu: grilled shrimp ceviche, Kansas City-style brisket, teriyaki turkey burgers, brisket baked beans, Benedictine pasta salad, and sweet corn bread pudding. Leisure time is provided after the grilling demo and tasting to browse around the Kitchen Shoppe with all the latest in cookware, bakeware, gadgets, cutlery, cookbooks, odds and ends, and hard-to-find items. Fee includes roundtrip transportation from Harford Community College, a snack box, and the grilling demo with tasting and wine pairing.
