Harford Community College’s Music Department is hosting two musical performances on campus in October.
Harford received funding for cultural events to entertain and inspire individuals to engage, learn and grow. The grant will fund diverse professional touring companies of recognized artistic merit as well as community musical theater and dance performance organizations.
Treat yourself to a sidesplitting good time involving some refreshingly irreverent wit as the College’s Actors Guild performs “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940,” November 8-10 and November 15-17 in the Blackbox Theater located in Joppa Hall on the Harford campus.
See “My Father’s Dragon,” based on Ruth Stiles Gannett’s beloved stories, on November 2 at 3 PM in the Amoss Center. Enchantment Theatre Company brings this marvelous adventure for ages 4+ to the stage, reminding us all that we’re never too young to make a difference.
Cindy Mehr: Over the Rainbow, a solo exhibit of recent paintings focusing on the joy and freedom after the coronavirus restrictions ended and everyday life resumed, closes November 8. The vividly colored works explore the contrasts found in times of joy and strife.

Harford was awarded a grant for $17,020 by the Maryland Higher Education Commission as part of a statewide initiative to address food insecurity on Maryland college campuses. The grant will help fund sustainable efforts to attend to basic food needs among students.
Donald Watson was named the first recipient of the Barry Glassman Public Service Scholarship. The award was established to benefit a Harford student entering their second year of study as a political science major who submits a winning essay on civility in government.
