Sven Holbik

Associate Professor Earth Science

About

My research interests include the geochemistry of volcanic rocks in southern Chile, electron microscopy and geoscience education. I have taught Earth Science related courses at Florida International University, Valencia College and now Harford Community College. Courses I have instructed include Earth Science, Physical Geology, Geology of National Parks, Minerology, Petrology, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Electron Microprobe Microscopy and Oceanography. I enjoy integrating research practices into Earth Science education to give students the opportunity to learn cutting-edge techniques, analysis of collected data, and introductory research experience.
