Travel, Volunteer, Lead
Expanding your view of the world is one of the most beneficial things you can do for yourself—and you can do it locally or globally.
Experience all Harford has to offer by trying something and pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. You'll be amazed where it can take you!
“Seeing the work that other students like myself were doing encouraged me to continue studying.
It came right at a time when I had reached a low point and was questioning whether to continue.”
Opportunities to Get Involved
Interested in sharpening your leadership skills? The Emerging Leaders Program prepares students to take the lead in the classroom, the workplace, and the larger community.
Students in the Emerging Leaders program will have the opportunity to:
- Attend the Annual Student Leadership Banquet
- Apply for an Emerging Leaders Scholarship
- Be considered to attend regional and national leadership conferences, such as the National Association for Campus Activities NACA Summer Leadership Event in Walt Disney World
Harford's Alternative Breaks enable students to travel to areas in need—to volunteer, experience diverse perspectives, learn about social issues, and grow as lifelong citizens. Scholarships are available and we encourage all interested students to apply. Applications are available at the Office of Student Life on the ground floor of the Student Center.
Travel opportunities are also available through Community Education.
