To celebrate the accomplishments of its alumni, the College annually awards a Distinguished Alumni Award. Nominations are now being accepted for the 2020 award.

"Our primary goal as an institution is to help prepare our students so that they may achieve success and make a positive impact on the world. We are very proud of the accomplishments of our alumni," said Denise Dregier, director for college and alumni development. "The Distinguished Alumni Award is our opportunity to celebrate a former student who has not only thrived personally and professionally but has also remained a champion of the College."

Established in 2014, the award honors the achievements of former HCC students. It recognizes an alumnus who has excelled in the following areas: outstanding success and distinction in their chosen field/profession, commitment to the community and charitable outreach, and continued interest in and service to Harford Community College.

The award will be presented during the College’s Commencement ceremony on May 21, 2020.

To be considered, the applicant must be an alumnus, having taken a course at the College. Self-nominations and posthumous applications will also be considered. The nominee must commit, at the time of the application submission, to attend the College's Commencement ceremony. The deadline for submission is February 28, 2020.

Previous recipients are Patricia A. Thompson, DNP, RN; Chuck Boyle; Ann B. Ramsay; Charles H. Jacobs, Jr.; David and Diane Dixon; and Kristy Breslin Klevinsky.
