These instructions assume that you have already set up your web folders. If you have not done this yet please do so now by following these instructions.

Opening Your Web Folder in Frontpage
1.
Click on the Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft Office 2003 -> Microsoft Office Frontpage 2003. Go to File -> Open Site.

On the left side of the window you will see a list of places you can look for your Web Folder. Click on My Network Places. Highlight the web folder you created previously and then click on Open.
3.
A security login prompt will appear. Type in HCC\<novell_login> followed by your Novell password. (This is the same login and password you used to set up your web folder.) Click OK.

Working in Frontpage
1.
Frontpage has a left pane window that looks and operates much like Windows Explorer. It has a tree hierarchy and shows all the folders and files in your web space. The "Root" of your site is the top level of your site. It is shown at the top of your tree structure.
2.
When you want to open a web page to work on, simply double click the file and it will open up in the right pane window. You want to make sure you are viewing the page in Design view as shown above. This lets you view the web page as you would see it in a browser. You can work in this view as you would in Microsoft Word.
3.
You may create new folders and organize your web site any way you like. Simply highlight the folder (or "Root") that you want to make the folder in and right click it. Select New -> Folder. Generally, it makes sense to group topics and web pages under appropriately named folders and to store your image files in a folder called images.

Importing Files/Images in Frontpage
1.
Pick the folder or Root where you would like to store the file you are importing and highlight it. Then go to File -> Import.
2.
An Import Window will open. Select the Add File... button.
3.
Browse your computer hard drive or network drive (i.e. H drive) for the file (Word or PDF document) or image* (JPG or GIF) that you want. Select it and click Open. You will then see it listed in the Import Window as shown above. You may continue to add more files or you may import them by clicking on OK.
*It is recommended that you crop and resize the images you want to use before importing them so that the audience does not have to download a large image (over 150 KB).
