There are significant differences in how students obtain accommodations in college than in high school. Academic accommodations are not automatically put in place; students must be self advocates and request services. Students who wish to obtain accommodations for their classes must:
Appointments are required for DSS Orientations and to pick up Accommodation Memos. Students are accepted on a walk-in basis for advising only as advisors are available; there may be times when no advisors are available.
Parents and family members of students with disabilities are invited to participate in a Parent Connect session. These workshops are designed specifically for parents - students do not attend. Admissions representatives will discuss the topics that parents need and want to know but aren't quite sure who to ask, as well as familiarize them with campus services. To register and for further information, call 443-412-2288 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Dates will be provided as available.
Please note: Our office will be closed on Friday, October 24th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please plan accordingly as no staff from Disability Support Services will be available during this time.
