Advising is an important aspect of student success at Harford Community College. Remember, your educational and career plans are all about you. Advisors are here to help guide and educate you on the college process and resources available to help you accomplish your goals.

As you complete your time here at HCC, be aware that final responsibility in meeting graduation requirements and transfer deadlines ultimately rests with you.

Common Sense Tips for Student Success!

  • Review your degree plan each semester prior to registration.
  • Meet with an advisor each semester to discuss your course selections, academic & career goals.
  • Come to advising prepared!  Review course selections online and have tentative schedule already planned.
  • Talk to your instructors about their educational backgrounds and career experiences to gain valuable knowledge that may assist you in obtaining your goals.
  • Be on time for your classes and be respectful of professors and staff.
  • Get involved!  Everything you do at HCC can be listed as experience on your resume, so act wisely and get involved with student organizations through Student Activities.
