Service Learning
443-412-2090

Service-learning promotes student learning and development through participation in meaningful community service for a nonprofit organization which:

  • Meets the needs of the community
  • Fosters civic responsibility
  • Integrates activities into the academic curriculum
  • Provides structured opportunities for students to reflect on service experiences
Adapted from the National and Community Service Trust Act of 1993

At Harford Community College students have the opportunity to explore service projects both in and out of the classroom through either academic service learning courses or through College Life service opportunities

To learn more about academic service learning opportunities, please contact Jan Brewer at jbrewer@harford.edu.  To learn more about College Life service projects, please contact Jackie Ekstrom at jekstrom@harford.edu.
