Service-learning promotes student learning and development through participation in meaningful community service for a nonprofit organization which:
- Meets the needs of the community
- Fosters civic responsibility
- Integrates activities into the academic curriculum
- Provides structured opportunities for students to reflect on service experiences

At Harford Community College students have the opportunity to
explore service projects both in and out of the classroom through either
academic service learning courses
or through College Life service
opportunities.
