Medical Assisting Certificate
Program Description
The Certificate in Medical Assisting at Harford Community
College is a career program designed to prepare students
for employment as a medical assistant immediately upon
completing the course of studies. A medical assistant is a multi
skilled allied health professional, a member of the health care delivery
team who performs clinical and administrative procedures.
According to Indeed.com, the current average salary for a medical assistant
is $33,000.
Towson
University has accepted an articulation agreement with HCC to accept all 64
credits from our degree program!! Continue your education while beginning a
new career!
U.S.
Bureau of Labor Statistics recently announced that the growth of employment
for medical assistants from 2010-2020 is expected to be 31%!!

This spring we'll be
launching a new local chapter of the Maryland Society for AAMA (American
Association of Medical Assistants). Join your professional organization now!

Certification:
As a graduate of the
Medical Assisting Certificate Program you are eligible to sit for the CMA
(AAMA) national certification or the RMA (ABHES) national certifying exam.
