Q. Who can register for a Library Card?
A. HCC Credit Students, HCC Employees, HCC Noncredit Students and Harford County Residents
may register for free. You must be 18 years or older. Parents of high school students may request a note on their record allowing their child permission to use their card
with proper ID. Cards expire one year from issue. HCC Credit Students & Employees, see below.
Q. Who can register for an HCC ID Card?
A. HCC Credit Students and HCC
Employees must register for an ID Card. There is no cost, but to replace a lost or damaged card is $15.

Q. What do I need to get my HCC ID or Library Card?
A. You will need to provide one of the following as proof of identification:
Credit Students: You will also need your Student ID Number / H Number.
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid State MVA ID Card
- Valid Government ID
- Valid US Passport
- Current Work Photo ID
- Current Photo ID From Another College
- Valid Permanent Resident Card
- Valid Employment Authorization Card
- Valid Visa or Passport From Another Country
- Valid Driver's License From Another Country
Q. How do I register?
A. Please visit the Circulation Desk located on the second floor of the Library and present a photo ID that
verifies your name, address and age. You will then be asked to fill out a registration form.
To save time, you can fill out the online registration form
and hand it to a Circulation Desk staff member. ID/Library cards are available ONLY until 1/2 hour before closing.

Q. How do I access databases from off campus with my Library or ID Card?
A. You will see a 14 digit barcode number on the back of your card. This number will enable you to access
our databases from off campus. After you
select a database, you will be prompted to type in your barcode number and then you will be taken out to the database.
