Mission Statement of International Education

International Education at Harford Community College promotes global awareness through initiatives that link the College to the world community of peoples, cultures, and nations.

International Education Initiatives

Expand Student Global Awareness

  • Provide travel opportunities for students to experience other countries and cultures

  • Enhance interaction among local and foreign students

  • Sponsor seminars, workshops, forums, and presentations on international issues and events

Integrate Global Perspectives into the Curriculum   

  • Develop new courses on international issues where appropriate

  • Incorporate internatonal issues and awareness into current courses where appropriate

  • Develop travel/study courses

Expand Faculty, Staff, Administration Global Awareness

  • Provide contact with foreign colleges and faculty

  • Encourage membership in international organizations

  • Encourage attendance at international conferences

  • Provide workshops to faculty on how to incorporate international perspectives into courses

  • Support efforts to obtain external funding to sponsor international partnerships and projects
