Harford Leadership Academy

2013 Program Information

The fourteen sessions cover the (tentative) topics listed below and are led by individuals with expertise and practical knowledge in the specific issue under study. The program is diverse and exciting, and provides opportunities for dialogue among the participants.

The Harford Leadership Academy will host a kick-off session at Harford Community College on Friday evening, dinner included, to allow participants to meet each other prior to the start of the program in a casual atmosphere. Class will resume at the college on Saturday morning at 8:30 AM. (Friday's dinner as well as breakfast and lunch on Saturday are complimentary for program participants.)

Harford Leadership Academy will begin with dinner and program on 6:00 PM Friday and resume on Saturday at 8:30 AM ending at 3:00 PM. The program continues for 13 Wednesday mornings from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM except for Session IX on May 8th will be 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM.  Session time and location are subject to change.

A graduation banquet will be held at the conclusion of the program. The 2013 cost of the Academy is $675 per person, payable upon notification of acceptance.  The SBDC offers a full scholarship to a small business owner/operator that meets SBA definition for minority business. A limited number of 1/2 scholarships are available based on demonstrated need.  Attendance is expected at all sessions, including the opening Friday/Saturday session and the banquet, although two absences are permitted after the opening weekend session.

Directions to Higher Education Center at HEAT

Take Interstate 95 North or South to exit 85, Aberdeen, Take Rt.22 West. The HEAT Center is on the left 200 yards from the interchange, make the first left at Technology Drive.
