Student Consumer Information
In compliance with federal regulations which require
disclosure to current and prospective students, Harford Community College is
providing the following notice which lists and describes student consumer
information available from the College's website. You may also request a
written copy of this information upon request from the individual offices
indicated below.
The Student Handbook is also a helpful resource.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act Student Information Presentation (click for presentation)
Harford Community College complies with the provisions of the Family
Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and any regulations, which may be
promulgated there under. The purpose of this act is to allow the student to be
aware of what educational records are kept by the college, to provide the
student the right to inspect such records and ask for corrections, if necessary,
and to control the release of such information to those who are not involved in
the educational process. Under the Privacy Act, directory information is made
available to anyone who requests it unless the student specifically asks that
this not be done. (Requests to withhold release of information must be submitted
to the Office of Records and Registration at the beginning of each academic
semester.) The only information that HCC considers in the directory information
category is as follows:
- Student Name
- Photographs
- Date of Birth
- Email Address
- Academic Honors and Awards
- Program of Study
- Dates of Enrollment
- Full-Time/Part-Time Status
- Degrees/Certificates Awarded
- Participation in Officially Recognized Activities and Sports
Anyone who believes that his or her rights have been abridged may file
complaints with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act Office (FERPA),
Department of Education, Washington, D.C. 20201.

Financial
Assistance Information
The information includes eligibility requirements,
application forms and procedures, satisfactory progress standards, cost of
attendance, types of financial aid programs, disbursement of funds and
return of Title IV assistance. Further information is available from the
Financial Aid Office in the Student Center, 443-412-2000, Ext. 257.
Institutional Information
The College Catalog, available upon request from
Registration and Records Office in the Student Center, contains information
on academic programs (including degree and career offerings) faculty, staff,
and administration, accreditations, student services including those for
students with disabilities, withdrawal and refund policies, tuition and fees
for full- and part-time students and much more. Further information about
reviewing institutional accreditation documents can be obtained from the
President's Office, 443-412-2000, Ext. 230.
Graduation and
Transfer-Out Rates
In accordance with federal Student-Right-to-Know
regulations, information on graduation and transfer-out rates of first-time,
full-time, degree-seeking undergraduates is available. This information is
available from the Office of Institutional Research, 410 836-4000, Ex.344.
Institutional Security Policies
and Annual Report on Crime Statistics
This report includes institutional policies concerning
Public Safety, such as policies covering alcohol and drug use, crime
prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. The
report also includes statistics for the previous three years on federally
prescribed reportable crimes. You may obtain a copy of the report in the
Credit Schedule of Classes or by contacting
Public Safety
in the Library, 443-412-2000, Ext. 272.
Athletic Program Participation
Rates and Financial Support Data
This report provides a listing of varsity sports with
information about team participation by gender and operating expenses and
revenues. This information is available on request from the Coordinator of
Athletics in the Susquehanna Center, 443-412-2000, Ext. 321.
