Elder Care

Located in a brand new wing in a building on the beautiful campus of Harford Community College, Family and children's Adult Day Services provides socialization, stimulation and comprehensive medical supervision for the mentally and/or physically frail older adult. Specially-designed daily activities enable program participants to continue to enjoy life and remain active members of their families and communities. Adult Day Services also affords relief for caregivers who normally cannot leave their loved ones alone and unsupervised.

An added benefit of Family and Children's Adult Day Services in Harford County is that YMCA children's day care programs are housed on-site as well, which allows for multigenerational interaction between the seniors and children - a situation that is highly beneficial to both age groups.

Adult Day Service Offers:

• A nurse's treatment suite for individual medical attention
• Physical stimulation through varied exercise programs in a large, bright area
• A special room for arts and crafts
• Meal and snacks, served in a cheerful dining room
• Mental stimulation through discussion and group activities
• A family conference room
• Transportation
• Personal hygiene care

We also can help with our In- Home Aid and Caregiving Services division. This means that frail older and/or disabled adults can remain at home where they are comfortable yet receive the vital care they need. Services include bathing and grooming, dressing, toileting, meal planning and preparation, conversation and companionship, and help with many other daily activities. In- Home Aid and Caregiving Services also provides greatly needed relief from stress for the family caregiver who may need time away from home, but cannot leave their loved one unsupervised.

Family and Children's Adult Day Services is the only facility in Harford County that provides all these services - and a sliding fee scale.
