Whether you are looking to get started in a cyber career, to enhance a current skill-set, or increase your cyber awareness, Harford has courses and programs to help you achieve your objectives.

NEW! Accelerated AAS degree in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity

Recognizing the critical importance of effectively and quickly preparing a skilled cybersecurity workforce, Harford will be offering a new accelerated AAS degree program beginning in fall 2019. The Monday/Wednesday evening program will include online and hybrid courses that can be completed in 17 months. Same skills, less time, faster entry into the world of cyber.

AAS degree in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity

For students interested in immediately entering the workforce or transferring to a four-year institution, the AAS degree prepares you to enter the high-demand field of information technology security. With the increase of computer viruses and other security breaches, companies need professionals who can protect their data and equipment from internal and external security threats. Students gain hands-on experience with the latest hardware and software and learn to implement appropriate security policies and procedures.

Information Assurance and Cybersecurity Certificate

This program prepares students to enter the high demand field of Information Technology Security. This program is designed for individuals with IT experience who are looking to advance their career in the cybersecurity field.

Cyber Defense Certificate

This accelerated program is comprised of several industry-standard certications offered in a cohort format which is modular and competency based. Upon completing the program students will have the knowledge and skills to apply for jobs such as Computer Network Defense Analysts, Network Administrators, Computer Network Defense Infrastructure Support, Intrusion Detection System (IDS) Technicians, and Systems Administrators. Students desiring to further their education beyond the Certificate can stack their credits to articulate to the Information Assurance and Cybersecurity AAS degree and ultimately to a bachelor’s degree.

Gen-Cyber Camp

How do you activate the next generation of cyber defenders? Two one-week cybersecurity summer day camps are a start! Through a recently awarded $95,989 National Science Foundation and National Security Agency grant, Harford will encourage 40 middle school students to increase their interest in cybersecurity, learn safe online practices, and shift from being cyber users to becoming makers, coders, developers, and programmers. Look out world, these kids are going places!

National Center of Academic Excellence

Harford's Information Assurance and Cybersecurity degree has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence (CAE-CD) by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
