If you are creative and enjoy socializing, consider a career as a nail technician. The best part, there’s no need to go to an expensive beauty school because Harford Community College offers a Nail Technician Program.

Approved by the Maryland State Department of Education, the program prepares students for the state required examination to become a licensed manicurist.  Consisting of three parts, the program begins each fall and finishes in June.  The estimated cost of the program is $2,045.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in the field is estimated to grow by 10% over this decade. Median hourly wages for manicurists and pedicurists, including tips, in Maryland are $12.04.

Required Classes:

Nail Technician I – Fall Semester
Nail Technician II – Spring Semester
Nail Technician III – Spring Semester

All textbooks for Continuing Education & Training classes are available at the College Store located in the Student Center.
