Medical Administrative Assistant

This entry level program prepares students to sit for National Certification as a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).


 According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, the 2016 median pay for Medical Administrative Assistants in Maryland was $36,880 per year.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED
  • Reading (ACA) and Math (ACR) Assessments; available at the Test Center
  • Health Assessment, including immunization record

Career Courses:

  • Medical Office Processes
  • Medical Front Office Externship
    (The Clinical Coordinator arranges start date and placement with each student. Evening and weekend hours not available. It may take up to 6 months for students to be placed at an externship site.)

Approximate cost of the program is $1,837.
