Elder Care

Adult Day Services

Run by Family and Children’s Services of Central Maryland, the Adult Day Services provides socialization, stimulation, and comprehensive medical supervision for the mentally and/or physically frail older adult.

Specially designed daily activities enable program participants to continue to enjoy life and remain active members of their families and communities. Adult Day Services also affords relief for caregivers who normally cannot leave their loved ones alone and unsupervised.

An added benefit is that Adult Day Services is housed in Harford Community College’s Early Learning Center, which allows for multigenerational interaction between the seniors and children – a situation that is highly beneficial for both age groups.

Adult Day Services offers:

  • A nurse's treatment suite for individual medical attention
  • Physical stimulation through varied exercise programs in a large, bright area
  • A special room for arts and crafts
  • Meal and snacks, served in a cheerful dining room
  • Mental stimulation through discussion and group activities
  • A family conference room
  • Transportation
  • Personal hygiene care
