Chesapeake Gallery

The Chesapeake Gallery at Harford Community College features contemporary art by emerging and established artists as well as HCC faculty and students.

Located in the Student Center, the Chesapeake Gallery is the only exhibition space of its kind between Baltimore and Newark. It serves as a vital educational link between the community and the practice of art and design in the region.

Observation and Exploration: Recent work by Michael Benevenia and Marcia Wolfson Ray

Curated by Jim McFarland
Professor of Art + Design

Marcia Wolfson Ray’s work explores form in reference to place through material. She speaks of a “sense of mystery” and of her work being a collaboration with nature.

Michael Benevenia is influenced by anatomical form and prosthetic devices, especially in reference to the American Civil War. He speaks of “empathy and support (that) can develop solidarity.”

Come experience the conversation.
