Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

CNAs are in high demand - many of our students have jobs before they graduate!

Learn to provide patients hands-on care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON), this program enables graduates to apply for certification as a CNA with the MBON and to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) examination to be certified as a GNA.

According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, the 2017 median salary for Certified Nursing Assistants in Maryland was $30,470 per year. Employment is expected to grow 17% from 2014-2024, faster than the national average.


  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Reading (NGR) and Math (NGA) Assessments, available at the Test Center; college-level courses or SAT/ACT scores (500+) may be used in place of the NGR and NGA
  • Health Assessment, including immunization record; prior to clinical
  • Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR certification; prior to clinical

  • Nursing Assistant Theory
  • Nursing Assistant Clinical
