What is ITIL Foundation Prep?

The IT Infrastructure Library® (ITIL) is the most widely accepted approach to IT service management in the world.  ITIL provides best practices, drawn from both the public and private sectors internationally.  The ITIL Version 3 (V3) Qualifications scheme provides four levels of certification.  ITIL Foundation level is the entry level for the scheme and upon successful completion of the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management a candidate becomes eligible to take further V3 certifications within the scheme.

Why should I get certified?

Information technology is the cornerstone of today's highly demanding and competitive business world. As an IT professional, you face the daily challenge of providing reliable, consistent and affordable IT services in a constantly changing performance-driven environment. Prove your knowledge and join over one million certified IT Professionals.

Where do I get a job? Will you provide assistance?

Harford Community College offers counseling and assistance in your job search. Advisors are available to help current students and graduates with resume development and interview skills. Visit the Academic Advising and Transfer Services website or contact them at 443-412-2301.

How long is the ITIL Foundation Prep program? What will I learn?

The ITIL Foundation Prep program consists of one 4-day intense training course.  Students will receive an introduction to the lifecycle of managing IT services. Students will learn five core disciplines of ITIL best practices. The five disciplines represented in this course are service strategy, service design, service transition, service operations, and continual service improvement. These disciplines represent a service lifecycle framework that further enhances alignment to the business while demonstrating business value and ROI, and enabling IT to solve specific operational needs.
